Yield : 2%. It therefore takes 100 kg of plant to obtain 2 kg of Eucalyptus radiata essential oil.
Species native to the coast of New South Wales in Australia, eucalyptus seem to be surrounded by a bluish halo from the evapotranspiration of the leaves during the summer heat. The essential oil is colorless and its aroma fresh and slightly minty. Very volatile, very penetrating and almost heady, it has this characteristic smell due to its major component (70% eucalyptole).
With a less powerful aroma and therefore more pleasant to breathe, Eucalyptus radiata will replace eucalyptus globulus for children and allergy sufferers, especially during the first winter attacks. Antiviral, decongestant and expectorant, eucalyptus radiata is the ideal essential oil for respiratory ailments, whether viral (cold, flu) or bacterial (bronchitis, sinusitis, otitis).
Pleasant to breathe, it is a great nasal decongestant. It also has the power to heal skin infections, support the immune system and give energy.
*The chemotype is the identity card of the essential oil, its composition chemically defined by chromatographic analysis. The same plant can have several compositions depending on the place and the variety. A chemotype depends on a property, an odor, a taste.
The essential oil of Eucalyptus radiata contains in particular as active ingredients oxides (1,8-cineole: 72% -75% - 80%) and a monoterpenol (alpha-terpineol).

Eucalyptus radiata essential oil should be avoided in case of hypertension and by people prone to epileptic seizures. Also be careful when using this essential oil for several days when taking the pill, anticoagulants, chemotherapy, etc. Not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
Essential oils are powerful natural substances and should therefore be used with care. Even if essential oils have been used since Antiquity, their mode of use and the precautions for use are often poorly known. Many books deal with essential oils. It is therefore advisable to refer to it to find out about the traditional modes of use.
As an indication, some examples of use
Eucalyptus radiata essential oil is widely used in diffusion. To decongest in case of stuffy nose, put 10 drops of this oil in a bowl of hot water, in fumigation in the room or diffuse for 15 minutes in the room before bedtime.
Used in inhalation, the essential oil of eucalyptus radiata will relieve obstructed airways or prevent the flu. 2-3 drops of essential oil in a bowl of warm water 2-3 times a day for a week.
Since essential oils are not soluble in water, they must be mixed with an emulsifier before pouring them into the bath. For example, they can be mixed with a liquid soap, a neutral shampoo (1 tablespoon) or our dispersant Solubol®. As a general rule, it is advisable not to exceed 10 drops per bath and not to stay longer than 20 minutes. Eucalyptus radiata in the bath will invigorate you and clear up that stuffy nose feeling. Put 10 drops in the bath diluted in milk or other emulsifier.
It is advisable to mix a few drops of essential oil with a vegetable oil (sweet almond, jojoba, macadamia, rosehip, argan, olive, etc.) to use it as a massage oil.
To promote the proper functioning of the respiratory tract and stimulate the body's natural defences, dilute 2 drops of eucalyptus radiata + 2 drops of ravinstara + 1 drop of niaouli in vegetable oil. Chest and back massage, several times a day for 2 to 3 days.
To promote proper functioning of the respiratory tract, dilute 1 to 3 drops of eucalyptus radiata essential oil in a teaspoon of honey or vegetable oil, 2 to 3 times a day (maximum daily dose: 9 drops, i.e. 0.36ml).
In case of fever, take 3 to 4 times a day 2 drops of essential oil of Eucalyptus radiata on a neutral tablet by melting in the mouth or with 1 teaspoon of honey.
