It is a tree with a much more majestic and imposing appearance than the other species, easily exceeding 40 m in height. The Atlas Cedar lives in mountainous areas and the cedar forests grow between 1500 and 2500 m in altitude, with a preference for the much more watered northern and western slopes. Atlas cedar is a powerful antiseptic.

The essential oil of Atlas cedar has a warm, sweet and woody smell that is somewhat reminiscent of sandalwood. It is rarely diffused on its own but is often combined with other essential oils. We use it in our blends Adults dreams, Relaxation Conviviality and Inhalation.

Himachalenes
*The chemotype is the identity card of the essential oil, its chemical composition defined by chromatographic analysis. The same plant can have several compositions depending on the place and the variety. A chemotype depends on a property, an odour and a taste.

Substances naturally contained in this essential oil: Beta himachalene (40,00 to 52,00%); Alpha himachalene (12,00 to 20,00%); Gamma himachalene (6,00 to 14,00%); Alpha cedrene (<= 6,00%); Trans alpha atlantone (<= 6,00%).

Caution :  Like most essential oils, it is not recommended for pregnant women and young children. 

An essential oil is made up of chemically defined molecules (about 10,000 listed) that have been secreted by special plant cells. In case of allergy, in particular respiratory, the greatest caution is required for this method of use. The advice of a specialist is then recommended. Do not use essential oils that are aggressive to the mucous membranes (essential oils rich in phenols or aldehydes).
