Some information about Lemongrass

Lemongrass, also known as Indian Verbena, is mostly grown in tropical regions. It is a large perennial herb in the Gramineae family. Lemongrass is used in India to treat ringworm and in the West Indies to lower fever. Lemongrass is also widely used in Thai and Malaysian cuisines. Lemongrass essential oil, pale yellow in color and with a sweet lemon scent, is now known in the West for its various anti-inflammatory properties.

Lemongrass essential oil has a good lemony and fresh smell. It can be used for many purposes in aromatherapy. Its calming, sedative and relaxing properties make it an oil that is really well suited to situations of stress, anxiety or sleep disorders. Its sweet and lemony scent makes it a fresh and pleasant air freshener. It blends well with bergamot, cedar, geranium, and rosemary. It is a powerful antiseptic, antibacterial antifungal and an excellent tonic. Lemongrass is also known for its anti-inflammatory properties, especially in case of muscle pain or rheumatism. The citral molecules it contains will act against cellulite by preventing the swelling of fat cells (which block the drainage of water). Its insect repellent property will also repel insects very well. Finally, a few drops mixed with your usual shampoo will revive the shine of your hair. An entire program !!

An essential oil is made up of chemically defined molecules (about 10,000 listed) that have been secreted by special plant cells. It can consist of from one to several hundred molecules, which helps explain why some essential oils have many properties but different therapeutic effectiveness. To guarantee the properties necessary for effective aromatherapy, it is important that an essential oil is 100% pure and natural (not cut, not deterpenated, not mixed with alcohol or vegetable oils) and preferably organic. This is the case for the essential oils we sell. They are sold in tinted bottles with a dropper cap.
