Organic lemongrass essential oil

Organic lemongrass essential oil Lemongrass are large aromatic herbaceous plants from tropical regions (Indonesia, Java, etc.). The smell of Java lemongrass essential oil is initially rather sweet, with grassy notes, a bit of harshness and a lemony undertone. Its performance is quite good. The essential oil is used for its anti-inflammatory, anti-mosquito and aerial antiseptic properties. It is also widely used in perfumery as an aromatic base for soaps.

She smells fresh. Powerful, lemony and slightly peppery, it blends very well with bergamot, eucalyptus, geranium, lavender, peppermint and ylang-ylang. This oil has anti-infectious, antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties. It is recommended for example in ENT against angina. It will also be effective against tendonitis and rheumatic pain.

But this oil is also widely used to scare away insects. Diffused in a room, citronella essential oil repels insects and purifies the air with its antiseptic qualities. It can also clear your mind in the event of low morale.

Attention !

Lemongrass essential oil should be avoided during pregnancy (pregnant women less than 3 months). In sensitive people, lemongrass essential oil can be irritating to mucous membranes and cause tears or coughing.

 

Usage tips

Essential oils are powerful natural substances and should therefore be used with care. Even if essential oils have been used since Antiquity, their mode of use and the precautions for use are often poorly known. Many books deal with essential oils. It is therefore advisable to refer to it to find out about the traditional modes of use.

As an indication, some examples of use

Use by diffusion

With its pleasant, sweet and lemony smell, lemongrass will clean up the surrounding air. Diffuse 30 min to 1 hour to repel insects (especially mosquitoes) and bad smells.

 

Application by massage or compressIt is advisable to mix a few drops of essential oil with a vegetable oil (sweet almond, jojoba, macadamia, rosehip, argan, olive, etc.) to use it as a massage oil.

To ward off insects : 30 drops diluted in vegetable oil, then apply to areas of uncovered skin.

In case of insect bite : 1 drop of Peppermint essential oil in local anointing "freezes" the pain. You can then soothe the irritation with a drop of lemongrass, true lavenderaspic lavender or lavandin essential oil.

To promote harmonious digestion / to help relieve and soften sensitive joints : Diluted in a little vegetable oil, 3 to 5 drops of lemongrass essential oil, then massage locally into sensitive areas (belly, joints).

 

Oral useIn order to promote harmonious digestion, the advice is to dilute 1 drop in a teaspoon of honey or vegetable oil, 3 times a day (maximum daily dose = 3 drops, or 0.12 ml).
