Unique in Europe, exclusive innovation by Caliquo, here is the rechargeable children's toothbrush for the teeth of children from 2 to 6 years old! Equipped with a bioplastic handle whose color you choose, this ecological toothbrush with soft bristles has a rechargeable head that allows you to keep its handle and replace only the worn part, i.e. the bristles! 2 colors to choose from.
Disposable toothbrushes in France represent 1400 tons of waste per year of non-recycled and non-recyclable plastics because they are made of mixed plastics. A conventional toothbrush weighs about 18 grams. 18 grams of plastic are therefore thrown away every 3 months, while only the bristles of the brush are used.
The Caliquo company has therefore decided to act by proposing ecological toothbrushes to get out of the era of all plastic by creating everyday objects that are sustainable and/or zero waste.
The refillable head system was developed in 2013 and it allows their toothbrushes to remain in our bathrooms for a long, long time! Thanks to this concept, plastic waste is divided by 8: only 8 grams per year are thrown away, which is less than a single disposable toothbrush. The used heads are then recycled, nylon on one side and base on the other.

After the model for adults, here is now the model suitable for children from 2 to 6 years old. It doesn't look like that, but this children's toothbrush is almost a work of art! Unique in Europe, it took 1 year of work, several drawings and prototypes and several tests before being satisfied with the result.
The short and plump handle allows excellent handling by children. The bristles are flexible, this respects the enamel of milk teeth and the curved shape of child molars. The head of the toothbrush being very small, it makes it easy to go into all the nooks and crannies of the mouth. Finally, the rechargeable head is equipped with an innovative, patented and ultra-secure clip system. To prevent the rechargeable head from unclipping during use, only an adult can remove the used head by inserting a fine point (pen, paper clip, etc.) into the tiny cavity (less than 2 millimeters) provided for this purpose. Really reassuring for parents!
Equipped with a bioplastic handle whose color you choose (blue or yellow), this ecological toothbrush for children has a rechargeable head that allows you to keep its handle and replace only the worn part, i.e. hairs ! Thanks to the secure clip system, all you have to do is press down on the head to throw it away and then snap a new one back on!
The bioplastic is made from castor bean - the plant and its seeds. We are therefore talking about bio-sourced plastic, ie an innovative material made from the synthesis of organic, renewable elements of plant origin. Using bioplastic represents a first natural alternative to plastic of fossil origin, the world's reserves of which are running out. Caliquo chose to work with castor starch because of the strength of the harvested bio-polymers.
Caliquo has decided to work with Terracycle to offer you truly zero waste products that do not negatively impact the environment!
Terracycle gives a second life to objects that are difficult to recycle in conventional circuits, objects that would have ended up in landfill or incineration. The nylon in your toothbrush bristles and the ABS in the base of your Caliquo refill heads are among the materials that are difficult to recycle.
Your used refills are collected in the field through certain Caliquo partner shops that have chosen to be collection points. For the moment, there is no list of these collection points, as each shop decides independently on their participation.
However, you should know that all Day by Day bulk shops that Caliquo works with offer collection.
Children also have the right to their rechargeable head toothbrush! A truly innovative idea that educates and raises awareness of zero waste practices from an early age. What we liked was the concept of transforming materials that until now had been considered waste. Rather than extracting raw materials from our environment, we might as well use wood processing residues !
Additionally, the idea of the rechargeable brush head greatly decreases waste. Why throw away an entire toothbrush when only the brush has been worn down over the weeks? An excellent alternative to the conventional toothbrush.
Between 2 and 6 years old, the ritual of brushing teeth is a privileged educational time. This period is that of great learning! Why not use the ritual, often family, of the first brushing of teeth to gently convey a message? It is good and healthy to brush your teeth but it is also good to keep what can be. Our dear darlings will quickly understand that a toothbrush cannot be thrown away and will surely be amused by the unclipping of the head that you will realize in front of them!
At Caliquo, young children are not left behind. Ecological toothbrushes adapted to their age are now offered to them. These clean the smallest corners of the teeth and prevent cavities. They have an ergonomic bioplastic handle and an interchangeable head. The bioplastic handle is made of 70% castor oil and 30% ABS plastic to stiffen the children's toothbrush.
It's not bio plastic, but plant-based plastic, a better alternative to petro-based plastic. For gentle brushing, they have soft, supple bristles that perfectly respect children's dental enamel as well as the curved shape of their molars. These toothbrushes are used like conventional toothbrushes and are changed every 3 months.
When the bristles are worn, just change the head of the children's toothbrush, the unclipping is done by an adult. It does not have a push button, to remove the used head, you must insert a fine tip (pen, paperclip, etc.) into the small cavity. Note that the clip system is patented and secure. For the use of these French-made toothbrushes, there must always be the presence of an adult. Their recycling is carried out by the company Terracycle.
It is advisable to brush your teeth at least twice a day after each meal and to change the head of your toothbrush every 3 months maximum. Don't forget: the head of this toothbrush is rechargeable. You will only have to change it!
Bioplastic handle: Polyamide from 30% fossil matter and 70% sebacic acid from castor oil. Its head, made of nylon, is rechargeable.
Children's toothbrush including 1 handle + 1 rechargeable brush with soft bristles. Packaged in a recyclable cardboard box. 2 colors to choose from: blue or yellow.
In children, generally the first milk tooth appears around the age of 6 months. But it may appear before or even from birth. But don't worry, it can also happen after 1 year.
The child's teeth, which are called milk teeth, will grow until about the age of 3 years. A child's jaw consists of 20 baby teeth. During the development of its teeth, the 32 adult teeth will grow in the jawbone and will take place between 6 and 12 years of age.
Caliquo is first and foremost the story of the treasures that are discovered, often by chance, on a rainy day, in the attic of an old family home. And also the story of Grégoire, an agricultural engineer who dreams of being an inventor - and who is too bored in a financial audit!
When he finds some old 19th century toothbrushes hidden in a corner of his father's attic in Normandy his brain wakes up! In bone, his toothbrushes were not meant to be thrown away. The idea is there: why not make the toothbrush an object that we keep and stop throwing away 18 grams of plastic every three months ?
