Originally from North America, Gaultherie (Wintergreen) is a small aromatic bush. It is also cultivated in some Chinese provinces. Due to its majority composition in methyl salicylate, Gaultheria has anti-inflammatory and anti-analgetic properties, close to those of aspirin. From light yellow to aromatic fragrance, Gaultherie's essential oil is often used to flavor candy. The very recognizable smell often reminds of massage creams used by athletes.

This oil used exclusively in massage is a remarkable antalgic, anti-inflammatory. Its well-known smell recalls the balm used by athletes. Its important rate of methyl salicate (up to 95%) gives it its highly appreciated properties of sportsmen. You can use it alone, mixed with vegetable oil like Macadamia, before, during or after the effort. But you can also mix it with the essential oil of Romarin, or with the essential oil of Genièvre.
