Who is the head louse ?

The head louse is a tiny parasite that feeds on human blood and causes intense itching of the scalp. Although most common in children, it can affect people of all ages and socioeconomic backgrounds. This parasite, although harmless to health in most cases, can cause inconvenience and require prompt intervention.

The head louse goes through three stages in its life cycle: egg (or nit), nymph and adult. Nits are laid near the hairline and are attached with a special glue, which makes them difficult to remove. After hatching, the nymphs develop into adults within one to two weeks.

The main method of transmission of head louse is direct contact with an infested person. It can spread quickly in environments where people are in close proximity, such as schools, daycare centers and summer camps.

How to fight head lice ?

The most common symptoms of a head louse infestation are intense itching of the scalp. This itching is due to the saliva that the louse injects when it feeds on blood. Excessive scratching can cause skin irritation, sores and secondary infections.

The treatment of head lice generally consists of the use of specific anti-lice products, such as lotions, shampoos or creams. Removing nits may be more difficult and may require the use of a specially designed fine comb.

Limiting the lice epidemic

Hunting lice is always a trial of strength. These small haematophagous (blood-feeding) insects are difficult to eliminate because the females lay their eggs, the nits, directly on the hair and stick them with a sticky substance. These harmless parasites can settle on any head (whether clean or dirty). However, they are most commonly found on children between the ages of 3 and 12. To limit their spread during an epidemic, it is essential to check children's heads every week with a lice comb and treat if nits have settled. Produit très agréable

Le parfum est très agréable. Nous l'appliquons sur les cheveux tout les matin avant d'aller à l'école. 1 mois d'utilisation et pour le moment 0 poux alors que l'ecole est infestée. A suivre!
