Corsaire soap presentation

Cutting soap by hand

Corsaire superfatted soap is formulated to purify and repair your skin. It is ideal for daily cleansing of all skin types. It is recommended for use on the hands, face or body.

It's called Corsaire, a call to travel ... in the shower. Yes, yes !
Salt from Morbihan, rapeseed from Ille et Vilaine, sunflower from Vendée, and exotic ingredients from over there. Like a Corsair voyage... It cleanses the skin thoroughly and gently without irritating it. This soap purifies, regenerates and repairs your skin.

This soap is a committed soap ! Lise-Anne (the founder of the Savonnerie) is committed to making her products as artisanal as possible. The ingredients are organic and carefully selected. All the manufacturing stages are done by hand.

5 key ingredients

Corsaire soap contains 5 key ingredients that provide all the benefits your skin needs every day: sunflower oil, coconut oil, rapeseed oil, water enriched with sea salt and Patchouli essential oil.

Organic sunflower oil, whose composition is very similar to that of olive oil (88% oleic acid), is still rarely used in soap formulation. Coconut oil is much more common. But as an ecological choice (it is impossible to produce coconut oil in France), Totem Savon has decided to limit its use as much as possible. Sunflower oil offers magnificent benefits for your skin. Rich in Omega 6 and vitamin E, it has undeniable repairing properties. It prevents dehydration and has real softening and nourishing benefits for the skin. It is therefore perfectly suited to dry, and even very dry, skin.

Coconut oil : Rich in anti-oxidants, it contains vitamin A and vitamin E. In soap, the fatty acid composition of coconut oil means that the soap lathers well and is hard. It is organic and fair trade.

Rapeseed oil : Rapeseed oil is particularly mild and rich in fatty acids. It contains mainly linoleic acid, making it a natural soap that nourishes the skin. Rapeseed oil contains a high proportion of phytosterols and vitamins (E and K). Phytosterols have a healing, repairing and anti-inflammatory action. They improve the skin's barrier function and microcirculation, slow down skin ageing and protect against UV damage. Vitamin K reduces skin redness.

Sea salt : This comes from the salt marshes of St Armel (56). It is rich in trace elements. Salt is known to help stabilise skin conditions such as psoriasis. Its richness in trace elements has a moisturising and emollient effect. And more! In this soap, the manufacturing water has been replaced by water enriched with salt in a composition equivalent to seawater.

Patchouli essential oil : This essential oil has purifying and skin regenerating properties. It comes from Madagascar and is certified organic and fair trade. It has a soft, fresh fragrance that is unusual. The earthiness of patchouli is not present here.

Zoom on the main active ingredients

Active ingredients Organic sunflower oil, coconut oil, sea salt and Patchouli essential oilOrganic Oleic Sunflower Oil
The fat used for saponification in this soap is 100% oleic sunflower oil. The composition of this oil is quite similar to that of olive oil, with 88% oleic fatty acid. It is highly emollient. Studies are currently underway, as this oil has not been widely used in soaps and cosmetics up to now, so we haven't finished discovering its virtues! Because it's produced in France, it's of great interest to all soap-makers who are geographically far from olive oil! It comes from the Ursule farm in Vendée, which is certified organic.

Organic coconut oil
Coconut is the symbol of tropical beaches. Behind the hard shell of the fruit lies a treasure trove of pulp and milk. Coconut milk, obtained by pressing the pulp, leaves the skin soft and supple. Coconut oil, also known as coconut fat, is also obtained from the pulp. Thanks to its high content of saturated fatty acids, coconut oil is highly nourishing for the skin and has an enchanting scent. Thanks to vitamins E and K and the lauric acid it contains, coconut oil offers protection against bacteria and fungi. Not only does it moisturise, soothe and relieve irritated and itchy skin, it is also antibacterial and antifungal.

Sea salt from St Armel (56)
Salt water is known to have a number of benefits for the skin: moisturising, better healing, combating the bacteria responsible for acne, exfoliating effect to get rid of old skin, improving the skin's barrier function, better pH balance of the skin, reducing inflammation.

Organic Patchouli essential oil
Patchouli essential oil is famous for its powerful fragrance - a woody, spicy, bewitching oriental scent. Regenerating, Patchouli essential oil is used in skincare products for skin with imperfections. It is ideal for combating skin problems such as acne and rosacea.

And the colour blue ? Where does it come from ?

The blue colour in the soap comes from a natural dye: Indigo from Provence. A touch of colour for a guaranteed marine effect!
