The Damask Rose only flowers for two weeks. The petals are harvested and distilled to produce genuine Bulgarian Rose water which is used in the composition of nearly 95% of perfumes. Rose water has, in fact, been used for centuries in cosmetics and is one of the most famous floral waters.

Organic Damask Rose floral water is now appreciated for its illuminating, purifying and softening properties for dry, sensitive or devitalized skin. Used as a lotion, to complete make-up removal and tone the skin, it promotes a smooth and unified complexion. This Damask rose floral water is particularly recommended for normal skin and dry and mature skin.

- Toning and soothing : it regenerates the epidermis and dull and devitalized skin.

- Firming : it has an anti-ageing effect.

- Its tissue tightening effect allows it to prevent the appearance of wrinkles and erase the signs of fatigue.

- Astringent and purifying : it also gives new radiance to oily skin.

This floral water can be used as a spray at any time of the day to refresh your face, but also as a compress after make-up removal to purify the skin or mixed with a care cream or mask. But be careful, it is not recommended to let it dry on the skin (risk of dehydration).

You can also incorporate it into your cosmetics: add rose floral water to a cream or beauty mask to personalize them.

Located at altitude and on different floors, the roses have a gradual flowering which lasts longer than in the plain. Thus, the distillation period extends over 3 months instead of the usual 3 weeks to 1 month. Our solidarity commitment over several years allows our partner, isolated from large cities, to engage in development projects for the rose sector with visibility. Latest projects carried out: establishment of a new distillery with 3 stills of 1000L capable of producing 170 T/year of rose floral water! The new entity employs 6 people. Before 2017, the roses were only picked and then dried, for lack of a nearby distillery and a secure access road. Essential oil and floral water were then untapped…

The hydrosol is the water collected after distillation of a plant, it contains in small proportions the same components as the essential oil from which it is extracted, but also other soluble components contained in the plant which cannot be in essential oil. Floral water, as its name suggests, is a "maceration" of flower petals in water, so the term hydrosol is more appropriate, but in general it is more the term "water" than the we use.

Contrary to essential oils, the hydrosol, weakly concentrated in active ingredients, can be used without particular precaution.

There are as many hydrosols as essential oils. The ones we sell on Penntybio cover most common needs; they were chosen for their qualities and their properties.
