Who are ants ?

The ant stands out for its ability to live in an organised society and accomplish amazing tasks. These social insects have conquered almost every corner of the globe, demonstrating their resilience and adaptability.

Ants belong to the Formicidae family and are found on every continent except Antarctica. These small insects travel in colonies, forming complex societies led by a queen, whose main function is to lay eggs. The other members of the colony are divided into castes, each with a specific role to play.

Ants are also remarkable for their impressive physical strength. Some species are capable of carrying loads up to several times their body weight, which would be equivalent to a human being carrying a car. This ability is made possible by their well-adapted anatomy, with powerful muscles and sturdy exoskeletons.

In addition to their influence on the ecosystem as predators, ants also play a crucial role in the dissemination of seeds and the recycling of organic matter. Their contribution to soil fertility is often underestimated, but it is essential to the proper functioning of ecosystems.

How do you combat ants ?

Despite their fascinating nature, ants can also be considered pests in certain situations. Some species are considered pests in agriculture, as they can cause damage to crops. In urban areas, they can also invade our homes in search of food.

Despite their tiny size, ants can quickly become a major problem in our homes. Their ability to get in through the smallest cracks and their talent for finding sources of food make them formidable invaders. Fortunately, there are effective methods for controlling these unwelcome pests and preserving our living space.

1. Maintain rigorous cleanliness : The first step in the fight against ants is to eliminate the food sources that attract them. Make sure you keep kitchen surfaces clean and free of crumbs and food residues, and that food containers are well sealed. Empty bins regularly to prevent odours from attracting them.

2. Repair leaks : Ants are attracted to dampness, so make sure you quickly repair any water leaks in your home. Check taps, pipes and ducts to make sure there are no sources of stagnant water.

3. Use physical barriers : To prevent ants from entering your home, seal any cracks or openings through which they could squeeze. Use putty or caulk to plug holes around doors, windows and other potential entry points.

4. Use natural products : Some natural substances can act as ant repellents. These include white vinegar, bicarbonate of soda, cinnamon and ground coffee. Sprinkling these in places where ants pass can deter them from venturing further afield.

5. Use baits and traps : Poison baits are effective in eliminating the entire ant colony, as they carry them away in their nest. At Penn'Ty Bio, opt for our products specially designed for house ants. Sticky traps can also help capture ants that are actively moving around the house.

Why natural insecticides ?

Although some species can pose problems for humans, it is essential to recognise their crucial role in the balance of ecosystems and to learn to co-exist with them in harmony. So don't systematically eliminate them! If ants really are a problem in your daily life, remember that getting rid of them is one thing, but wouldn't it be even better if you could also protect your health and your environment? Did you know that some particles of conventional insecticides remain in your treated rooms for several months? Fumigants are the worst because the particles fall back onto all the objects, textiles and surfaces in the room. Unless you wash each item thoroughly, you'll inevitably end up with chemical substances. Opting for natural insecticides will not only get rid of the ants, but also, thanks to the composition of our products and their low persistence, ensure that you can continue to live in a healthy environment.

Fight ants naturally

Huile anti-fourmi contre les fourmis

This anti-ant bait gel contains a very attractive food bait and a powerful natural active ingredient: plant pyrethrum

The ants, attracted by the bait, ingest the natural poison contained in the gel. The ants are gradually paralyzed, which gives them time to contaminate their congeners. In order to eliminate the anthill in depth, the poison is activated from 48 hours after ingestion and diffusion of it in the anthill. The anthill (the nest) will be eradicated in 7 days.

Advantages of the anti-ant bait gel tube

+ Radical action, preventive and curative effect
+ 100% natural product
+ Ideal for vertical application or in hard-to-reach places: the gel does not run.
+ Effective in 48 hours
+ It can be used indoors and around the house outdoors

Points forts du tube gel anti-fourmi Kapo Vert

Did you know?

The ant is a social animal that shares with its sisters. Ants practice what is called trophallaxis, or the act of ants regurgitating the contents of their second stomach, the social crop, for other ants. This habit makes it possible to feed the inhabitants of the anthill but also to propagate information on the origin of the food thanks to the pheromones conveyed during trophallaxis. This feature of ants is used to control this insect. The pyrethrum contained in this gel is transported to the anthill and will allow the destruction of the colony.

How to use this anti-ant gel ?

Can be used inside and around buildings, in places frequented by ants or at each nest entrance. Open the cap and apply the product on a non-absorbent surface protected from water by drops or by trickle (approximately 3g/m² or 20 drops per m²). One tube can cover up to 6.6m². Respect the recommended doses. Given the greasy appearance of the gel, it can stain certain types of support, which is why a preliminary test must be carried out before use.

Ensure that the product is applied in areas protected from humidity and washing. If this is not possible, cover the bait to minimize access to non-target animals. The product takes effect approximately 48 hours after ingestion of the bait. Destroys the anthill in 7 days. Check bait weekly. At the end of the treatment, remove the excess product with absorbent paper in order to recover the remaining potential gel. Repeat the treatment the following month if necessary.

N.B : For application on a horizontal surface, on the ground or on a porous surface, you can use anti-ant box.

Réponse a M.G a/s anti fourmmlesz

Tube formicide Kapo Vert
