Red or gray lice are a plague in chicken coops or aviaries. These pinhead-sized parasites sting birds to feed on their blood. Real little vampires who often act at night, taking refuge during the day in the cracks and small interstices of the henhouse. These lice also often settle directly on the animal, in its plumage and very often under their wings, a place sheltered from light and very warm. Whether ornamental birds (canaries, pigeons, canaries, parakeets, etc.), laying hens, pheasants or quails, rare are those who have not been contaminated at least once by this parasite. The louse is generally introduced into the henhouse, the cage or the aviary by an outsider, but it can also be introduced by the breeder or a mammal such as a rat or a dog. By its repeated bites, it causes anemia (decrease in the number of red blood cells) which can be fatal in young subjects. Carrier of pathogenic bacteria, it can inoculate germs (salmonella) or parasites (plasmodium)

Fleas, ticks, mosquitoes and chiggers can also disturb the daily life of your farmyard feathered animals. They can easily take refuge in their feathers and sting them regularly for food. But that is not a fatality! If the invasion of these parasites is significant on the animal, appropriate veterinary treatment should be considered. The Biovétol insect repellent pipette for farmyard feathered animals (1 to 5 kg) is a very effective solution for repelling these insects and preventing them from settling on the animal.

The pipette is composed of 3 powerful active ingredients of plant origin : margosa, geraniol and lavandin. Once applied to the animal, the product is distributed over the entire surface of the body by diffusion in the sebum and builds a protective film against red lice, gray lice, fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, sandflies and chiggers. This box of 3 pipettes of 1 ml will protect the animal for a period of approximately 3 months. The action becomes optimal about 48 hours after the installation of the pipette.

Thus, the insect repellent action of these pipettes with organic ingredients will protect your hens, roosters, geese, ducks ... from external parasites on a daily basis.

Despite the initial absence of organic labels specific to this type of product, the Biovétol laboratory has developed solutions with active ingredients of natural origin (mineral and plant) and from organic farming, guaranteeing the preservation of ecosystems by sustainable cultivation and antiparasitics with biocidal active ingredients of plant origin, an alternative to synthetic pesticides.

The appearance, at the beginning of 2018, of dedicated organic standards and associated labels, made it possible to give a precise framework to an approach initiated 10 years earlier and the deployment, today, of a complete range labeled by ECOCERT.

External use. Monthly use reserved for farmyard, feathered animals. One pipette (1 ml) is designed for an animal weighing 1-5 kg. For + 5 kg, apply two pipettes. Shake the pipette well before use. Put on suitable gloves, hold the pipette vertically, the cap pointing upwards. Remove the cap, turn it upside down and perforate the tip of the pipette while turning. Apply the entire pipette at 2 points on the animal's body (between the shoulder blades and in the middle of the back). Recap and discard the pipette. Wash hands thoroughly after use. Avoid washing the animal for 48 hours after application. In the event of a strong parasitic outbreak, it may be necessary to repeat the operation after 2 to 3 weeks. In the event of a major infestation, it is strongly recommended to also treat the animal's environment with specific products.

Géraniol : Also called Rhodinol, Geraniol is a terpene alcohol that is naturally present in molecule form in plants of the Geraniaceae family. (Geranium, Pelargonium, Erodium, ...). It is considered 5 times more potent than lemongrass. It is obtained by fractional distillation from the Cympobogon Winterianus Jowitt extracting all the impurities without any chemical means.
Its properties : Geraniol has very effective insecticidal and repellent properties against parasites. This active ingredient causes the dehydration of adult parasites and stops the growth of eggs and larvae. Geraniol offers a real natural alternative to chemical treatments against fleas and ticks.

Margosa's extract : Margosa extract comes from the seed of the Neem tree, an Indian tree that has always been known by Hindu farmers for its repellent qualities.
Its benefits : Effective on a large number of insects and mites. It acts on several levels of the physiology of these insects: digestion, growth, sexuality. The effects of neem extract on parasites are not immediate, it takes 2 to 3 days to see the death of insects or their escape.

Lavandin : Lavandin is a cross species of classic lavender and aspic lavender. The smell of lavandin oil is pleasant for humans but repellent for insects, which is why it is present in many insecticides.

To avoid the invasion of red or gray lice in the hens, do not wait for your animal to be covered ... it is often too late! Finally, if the animal is carrying pests, it is highly likely that they have also installed themselves in its surrounding environment (neutral, laying, litter, etc.). A systematic anti-insect treatment should therefore be considered to eradicate them.

Don't swallow. Do not treat animals too young, sick or convalescent. Do not apply to a fragile or injured skin. Avoid contact with the eyes, nostrils, mucous membranes of the animal during the application. Do not exceed the dosage indicated. In case of ingestion, in case of allergic reaction, consult a veterinarian. It is advisable to test a drop between the shoulder blades and wait 24 hours to ensure no allergic reaction.
