Who is the mosquito ?

The mosquito, with its tiny size and annoying buzz, is an insect that may seem insignificant at first glance. However, despite its small size, it has a huge impact on human health and the ecosystem.

Mosquitoes are blood-sucking insects. Females need blood to develop their eggs, while males mainly feed on flower nectar. These prolific little creatures are found in almost all parts of the world except for extremely cold places.

Besides the itchy and irritated skin caused by their bites, mosquitoes can carry dangerous diseases. They are responsible for transmitting serious diseases such as malaria, dengue fever, chikungunya, Zika virus and yellow fever. Each year, millions of people are infected with these diseases, causing considerable human suffering and social and economic disruption in the affected regions.

The consequences of mosquito-borne diseases are not just limited to humans. Wild and domestic animals can also be infected, disrupting local ecosystems and impacting biodiversity.

How to fight against mosquitoes ?

Mosquito control is a constant challenge for health authorities and communities. Preventive measures such as using mosquito nets, removing standing water (buckets, clogged gutters, flower pots, used tires, basins, etc.) where mosquitoes lay their eggs, and using repellents can help reduce the risk of bites and disease.

Research is also being carried out to develop innovative and sustainable mosquito control methods, including the use of genetically modified mosquitoes to reduce their populations, or the implementation of biological control techniques by introducing natural mosquito predators in certain areas.

At Penn'Ty Bio, we offer many ecological solutions to fight against mosquitoes. Vegetable insecticide, repellent, mosquito net, diffusers, essential oils, anti-bite and anti-itch lotion or roll on... By adopting preventive measures, you will help reduce mosquito bites and minimize their impact on your daily life.

Why natural insecticides ?

Getting rid of mosquitoes is one thing (although very difficult, let's face it!), but if you could also preserve your health and your environment, wouldn't that be even better ? Did you know that some conventional insecticide particles remain in your treated rooms for several months ? Smoke is the worst because the particles fall on all objects, textiles, surfaces in the room. Unless you thoroughly wash each item, you will inevitably end up with chemicals. Opting for natural insecticides will allow both to get rid of mosquitoes but also, due to the composition of our products and their low persistence, to continue to live in a healthy environment.

When the mosquito bites !

Soulager une piqûre de moustique

Summer brings us many moments of relaxation, but also some small inconveniences, such as… mosquitoes. Although these annoying little flying insects are just a nuisance for most people, they can turn into a real nightmare for others. As soon as the temperatures rise, the mosquitoes return. It is unfortunately inevitable!

Female mosquitoes need blood to reproduce. They find in the blood all the essential proteins to make the eggs mature before they are even laid. A few seconds are enough for the female mosquito to draw our blood. She then injects anti-coagulant saliva, which stimulates the immune system and causes an epidermal reaction in the form of a pimple.

At the time of the bite, we generally do not realize the action taking place on our skin. It is only once the insect has been sated and flown away that this inflammatory reaction appears in the bitten area. It is a blister, light in color, which often itches immediately. The swelling from the mosquito bite then turns into redness.

A dual action soothing balm

Aries soothing after-sting balm has been formulated for 2 actions :

1 - Relieve the sting : the lavender extract contained in the product will very quickly soothe the itch that is triggered. Its anti-inflammatory action is known to soothe the symptoms of the bite. When with sweet almond, it softens the skin and helps to calm external itching.

2 - Moisturize the bitten area : Organic sweet almond and organic shea butter are known for their moisturizing and nourishing properties. The application of the balm on the bitten parts will immediately bring all their benefits to your skin.

The ideal is therefore to have this little balm always at hand. As soon as a mosquito bites you, immediately apply the balm to the affected area. This after-sting balm is suitable for the most sensitive skin. Thus, it can be used on children from 6 months and on pregnant women without contraindication.

Why is a mosquito bite itchy ?

As soon as there is a bite, our body perceives the mosquito's saliva as a foreign substance. It then releases histamine, a molecule secreted by the body to defend itself. It is the release of histamine that causes the blood vessels to dilate, thus forming the swelling of the skin. In general, a mosquito bite does not show any character of severity. The pimple disappears on its own after a few days without leaving a trace.

Focus on the main ingredients

actifs du baume après piqûre Aries

Lavender Lavender is a shrub with mauve or violet flowers. The Romans already used lavender to preserve linen or perfume the bath. Lavender is very fragrant and therefore widely used in the world of perfumery. After distillation of these flowers, we obtain an essential oil with a fresh, aromatic, floral, camphorated and woody smell. It is the reflex essential oil against mosquitoes. The linalool present in this essential oil is neurotonic, so it will act on the nervous system and help calm the pain in the event of bites. It will stimulate the morphine receptors (which control pain) thus releasing small analgesic proteins which will inhibit the pain message to the brain. It is therefore a local anesthetic and is used in case of bites or itching. Linalool is also antibacterial.

Sweet almond Originally from central and eastern Asia, the almond tree is a tree whose flowers are pinkish white. Their fruit, the almond, is an oilseed rich in fat, protein, minerals and vitamins A, B and E. It is for these reasons that the almond is beneficial for the health and beauty of the skin because it nourishes, smoothes and softens. In this balm, the vegetable oil of sweet almond will have several roles: That of softening the skin, calming the itching, fighting against any inflammation caused by excessively muscular scratching sessions and helping to heal the skin. the skin. A perfect asset in this case!

Shea butter Shea is a tree that can reach about fifteen meters high. It grows in the African savannas. It is from its nuts, containing up to 50% lipids, that shea butter is extracted, so popular today all over the world. Shea butter is an ideal active ingredient for skin care, due to its lipid-replenishing and smoothing action. It provides protection against skin dryness thanks to the presence of vitamin A. The presence of karitene in Shea butter gives it an unparalleled protective and regenerating action on the skin. It will allow your skin to be deeply hydrated. In addition, the healing of small pimples that have been scratched too much will be boosted thanks to the cinnamic esters present in Shea. The skin is soft, repaired and protected.
