Oranger amer otherwise called bigaradier, cultivated in France and North Africa, is widely exploited in aromatherapy, both for its fruits, its leaves and flowers. Young pale color, the essential oil of Petit Grain bigarade has a very characteristic, vivifying, lemony fragrance. It is used in the manufacture of Cologne water and various skin creams. It's a very sought after tree in perfumery. Indeed, the zest of its fruit provides a essence traditionally used in liqueurs and aperitif wines (Grand Marnier, Curaçao.) This same tree will give an essential oil of bitter orange zests and the cherry essential oil of Neroli, extracted from the flowers.

Like the oil of Néroli (eatious oil), the essential oil of Petit grain comes from the Bigaradier of Seville called also bitter orange. With nearby properties of the Néroli, but much less expensive, its delicate and sweet fragrance is between citrus and flowers. He gets married well with the scents of Bergamote, Lavande and Palma Rosa.
Its sedative and relaxing properties make this oil a natural tranquilizer that will be effective in fighting many nervous disorders. It also has the property of being an anti-transpiraent deodorant and regulating the secretion of sebum.
