ALT'O ZINSECT Spray is an active repellent against these biting and sucking insects. It provides an effective and long-lasting barrier for up to 4 to 5 days (without washing or sweating). This product has been formulated with 100% active plant ingredients. It is safe for your pets and for humans (under normal conditions of use of course!). For example, this insect repellent for animals will be ideal against flies on dairy cows, flat flies or horse flies on horses, donkeys, ponies, ticks on ruminants, sarcoptic mange on pigs, red lice on chickens, etc.

It is applied directly to the animal's coat, from the ears to the rump. For ticks, apply to the lower parts of the animal's body: legs, crotch and base of the neck, possibly up to mid-flank. Resistant to perspiration and light rain but not to shampoos, this insect repellent is marketed in the form of a spray (1 litre) or a gel (500ml), packaging that will allow total protection of your horse or pony for a season (or much more if your animal is smaller). Due to its high concentration, a small amount is enough to protect your animal (maximum 50 ml/application for a 600 kg short-haired animal).

You can also use ALT'O ZINSECT spray on the surfaces of buildings housing animals against flying or crawling insects (stables, boxes, kennels, henhouses, aviaries). However, the product must be cut with water (one volume of ALT'O ZINSECT spray to be diluted in the same volume of cold, clean water), then sprayed on the interior walls of the buildings.

Flies on your horse are naturally attracted by traces of dried or wet sweat and dirt. In the animal's hair and mane, flies find everything they need... a real larder! And flies are not the only ones, flying insects that find it easy to eat have quickly understood the good plan! Insects such as horseflies and mosquitoes that are present on your horses or ponies also take advantage of the opportunity to bite the horse's skin and suck the blood after depositing their saliva, thus facilitating the digestion of their meal. Applying fly protection to the horse's head, body and legs is the best solution. The presence of excrement (dung, manure, etc.) is also a source of excessive fly presence around the animal.

The equines most exposed to flies are obviously horses living in the pasture day and night, without a shelter to protect them from the heat, or living near water in wet and marshy pastures. Furthermore, unlike cats and dogs who regulate their temperature through their mouths, horses regulate their temperature through sweating. In the event of a heat peak or intense effort, the horse will therefore sweat. Insects are particularly fond of sweat with a very salty taste and will inevitably attack the horse. Flies also like dust and dirt and are attracted to dirty horses in the pasture.

Eucalyptus citriodora : Lemon eucalyptus oil is a plant extract concentrated in P-menthane-1,8 diol molecules. This substance has a strong repellent effect against many pests (mosquitoes, ticks, lice, flies, snakes, small mammals, etc.). Its activity is comparable to the 3 main substances on the market (DEET, Icaridine and IR3535™). Lemon eucalyptus oil is the only substance of natural origin that provides a significantly long-lasting repellent effect. Its repellent effectiveness has been proven in the laboratory and in the field, including on tiger mosquitoes.

Pyrethrum : Pyrethrum is a plant insecticide extracted from dried chrysanthemum flowers. Kenya is the largest producer of pyrethrum, followed by Tanzania. The term "pyrethrum" refers to the powder extracted from dried chrysanthemum flowers, while the term "pyrethrins" refers to the six active compounds contained in this powder. It is these active ingredients that have a strong neurotoxic effect on insects. Pyrethrum Extract is effective on many of them. It acts on the nervous system of insects, causing them to suffer from lightning muscle paralysis. It is one of the most powerful knock-down agents. Pyrethrum can be used in organic farming. It is biodegradable and its action is limited in time because it degrades in the light. 

 Geraniol : Geraniol is obtained by fractional distillation from the Cympobogon Winterianus Jowitt plant by extracting all impurities without any chemical means. It is a member of the monoterpene alcohol family. Geraniol is a colourless liquid with a pleasant rose odour. Geraniol is naturally present in many fruits, vegetables, spices and essential oils. Thanks to its floral scent and special properties, geraniol is used in many fields of application (cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food, detergents) and in particular as an anti-insect solution. It is also an excellent larvicide and ovicide. It acts at all stages of metamorphosis (egg, larva, adult) by suffocation and dehydration by acting on the chitin. It is often found in insecticide or repellent products to reinforce their action. This substance is effective over a wide spectrum.

2 - An application consists of spraying the product in fine droplets all over the body, without trying to completely wet the animal. Do not apply too much product. This product is used by spraying the areas to be protected, without dilution, on the animal's coat. Depending on the sensitivity of the animal, spray directly or use a pad, or distribute by hand.

Against ticks, apply to the lower parts: legs, crotch and base of the neck, possibly up to mid-flank.

3 - Apply only to dry hair

4 - In periods of heavy attack and for optimal protection, combine ALT'O ZINSECT Gel once a week on hairless areas.

Note : 1 pull of the trigger (spray) is equivalent to approximately 3 ml.

Chickens : 6 to 8 ml (2 to 3 sprays): it is necessary to raise the feathers a little during the treatment because it is often in these areas that the red louse is present. This treatment is sufficient for about 10 days.

Pony/calf : 15 to 25 ml (5 to 8 sprays)

Horse/cow : 15 to 50 ml (5 to 16 sprays) depending on whether the protection is local (e.g. head) or total. 1 litre of ALT'O ZINSECT spray corresponds to approximately 45 treatments, i.e. more than 4 months of protection for a horse. Indeed, 8 pressures for a horse: 2 on each flank, 1 on the midline, 1 on the buttocks, 2 on the chest. The first week, you can treat 3 consecutive days and then once every 3 days.

These examples will give you an idea of the quantities to use according to the size of the animal. Of course, the doses must be adapted whether it is a rabbit, a dog, a sheep or a cow.

3 - Pour the solution into a sprayer, mix well and set the nozzle to fine,

4 - Spray the interior walls of buildings.

For example, the 1 litre can treats 2 boxes, giving them effective protection for 3 weeks.

As soon as the warm weather arrives and temperatures rise, insects, especially flying ones, can be a real nuisance for the comfort and health of your animals. Horses, cows, donkeys, goats, sheep, pigs and many others are concerned and are regularly harassed. Flies, flat flies, donkey flies, horse flies, ticks, mosquitoes, arabis, simulies come constantly to bother them, sometimes driving them completely crazy. A real ordeal for them.

Your hen also knows a lot about this. For her, it's not flies but red lice. A real nuisance in hen houses, pigeon houses or aviaries. Whether you are a hobbyist, a small breeder or a professional breeder, whether you keep ornamental birds (canaries, pigeons, serins, parakeets, etc.), laying hens, pheasants or quails, there are few people who have not been infected at least once by this parasite. Through its repeated bites, it causes anaemia (reduction in the number of red blood cells) which can be fatal in young subjects.

Eucalyptus citriodora Oil Hydrated cyclized (CAS 1245629-80-4): 1.7% - Chrysanthemum cinerariaefolium extract produced from open and mature Tanacetum cinerariifolium flowers with supercritical carbon dioxide (CAS: 89997-63-7): 0.4% - Geraniol extract (CAS 106-21-1): 0.099%. Biocide classification TP 19.
