Who is the mosquito ?

The mosquito, with its tiny size and annoying buzz, is an insect that may seem insignificant at first glance. However, despite its small size, it has a huge impact on human health and the ecosystem.

Mosquitoes are blood-sucking insects. Females need blood to develop their eggs, while males mainly feed on flower nectar. These prolific little creatures are found in almost all parts of the world except for extremely cold places.

Besides the itchy and irritated skin caused by their bites, mosquitoes can carry dangerous diseases. They are responsible for transmitting serious diseases such as malaria, dengue fever, chikungunya, Zika virus and yellow fever. Each year, millions of people are infected with these diseases, causing considerable human suffering and social and economic disruption in the affected regions.

The consequences of mosquito-borne diseases are not just limited to humans. Wild and domestic animals can also be infected, disrupting local ecosystems and impacting biodiversity.

 

How to fight against mosquitoes ?

Mosquito control is a constant challenge for health authorities and communities. Preventive measures such as using mosquito nets, removing standing water (buckets, clogged gutters, flower pots, used tires, basins, etc.) where mosquitoes lay their eggs, and using repellents can help reduce the risk of bites and disease.

Research is also being carried out to develop innovative and sustainable mosquito control methods, including the use of genetically modified mosquitoes to reduce their populations, or the implementation of biological control techniques by introducing natural mosquito predators in certain areas.

Why natural insecticides ?

Anti-moustiques bio

This Mosquito and Flea Repellent Concentrate is the ideal solution to fight against adult mosquitoes as well as mosquito and fly larvae.

This product contains Geraniol. This powerful active ingredient of natural origin (included in the list of Biocides in Directive 98/8/EC) will act by smothering and dehydration (particularly on chitin, exterminating larvae and eggs)

This product, with its anti-mosquito and larvicide action, will be effective in humid, aquatic and plant environments (hedges, shrubs, flower pots, etc.) and on all types of mosquitoes, including Tiger mosquitoes (Aedes albopictus, the mosquito that carries Dengue fever and Chikungunya).

It is non-toxic to humans, to the environment and to other inhabitants of the breeding grounds. It can therefore be used indoors and outdoors without any problems.

Eradicating a larva today means eliminating a complicated flying mosquito tomorrow... Think about it !

Its composition

Geraniol TP18/TP19. CAS No. 106-24-1 dosage 10%. Vegetable dispersant, water-solubilised essential oils, preservative. Concentrated solution to be diluted.

Focus on the key ingredient

Geraniol 

Also known as Rhodinol, Geraniol is naturally present as a molecule in plants of the Geraniaceae family. (Geranium, Pelargonium, Erodium, ...)

It is considered to be 5 times more powerful than citronella (which has been removed from the list of authorised insecticides by the European Directive).

It is obtained by fractional distillation from Cympobogon Winterianus Jowitt by extracting all impurities without any chemical means.

Geraniol in aqueous solution acts in two ways on insects, whatever their stage of metamorphosis (egg, larva, adult): by suffocation and by dehydration. Geraniol is one of the best larvicides on the market.

 

Advice for use

The treatment should be carried out in pre-season or as soon as the first mosquitoes appear.

Use a trigger sprayer and dilute the entire bottle in 5 litres of water. To destroy all egg-laying and larval habitats, spray on stagnant water, flowerpot saucers, water holes, or any other place where mosquitoes develop.

Be careful, you must repeat the operation after each rain or watering.

With lower dilutions (50 ml of concentrate per 5 litres of water), you can treat directly in your house (curtains or upholstery) in order to have a repulsive effect against mosquitoes and flies. It is recommended that you test the product beforehand to ensure that it is compatible with the surface.

N.B.: Be careful when using this product in ponds or pools containing fish. Geraniol is a substance that can be toxic to aquatic organisms and cause long-term adverse effects. This product should be used on stagnant water, puddles and other puddles not inhabited by fish.

What surface area can be treated with this bottle ?

Consumption : Approximately 20 m²/litre, i.e. 100 m² for 5 litres of preparation.

Developmental stages of the mosquito

As always, in order to achieve effective control, it is important to have good bio-ecological knowledge of the target.

Eggs
Eggs are laid either on a moist substrate (Aedes) or on water (Culex, Anopheles).

In the first case, the eggs deposited on flooded soil can remain viable for several weeks, months or even years. They hatch in the first few hours after being submerged, provided that the temperature and photoperiod are favourable. In the second case, hatching usually takes place one to two days after oviposition.

The larvae
All larvae live in water, without exception. The larval stage lasts from one week to several months, depending on the water temperature. The higher the water temperature, the shorter the duration of the larval stage. After passing through four successive stages, they transform into nymphs, which are also aquatic.

Pupae
Unlike the larvae, the nymphs do not feed and are therefore insensitive to ingestion insecticides. Nymphs will emerge after 2 to 5 days : the flying adults.

Adults
Most species are nocturnal (Culex, Anopheles) to crepuscular (Aedes). The males, whose longevity is relatively low, remain close to their hatching site. The females can travel several dozen kilometres with the help of the carrying winds. Aedes are the best flyers and it is not uncommon to find them causing a nuisance sometimes 30 or 40 km from the hatching site. The flight range of Culex does not seem to exceed 2 to 3 km, that of Anopheles is slightly greater.

In order to effectively combat mosquito nuisance, it is therefore necessary to act from the larval stage. This is what you can do with our concentrated anti-larvae and anti-mosquito product Penn'Ty Bio.

Merci d'avoir laissé votre avis sur notre produit. Nous sommes désolés qu'il n'ait pas complètement répondu à vos attentes.

Nous savons que notre produit est efficace mais la problématique des moustiques peut être complexe à gérer en fonction de votre environnement et les moustiques tigres sont particulièrement redoutables.

Pour être le plus efficace, le traitement doit être réalisé en pré-saison ou dès l’apparition des premiers moustiques.Et attention, vous devrez renouveler l’opération après chaque pluie ou arrosage.

Nous vous conseillons de bien faire le tour des petits points d'eau stagnante comme les coupelles et soucoupes et de les vider très régulièrement. Et de continuer de traiter avec nos produits car la saison des moustiques n'est pas finie malheureusement.

Semble vraiment efficace

Très simple d'utilisation, couvre vraiment une très grande surface. Vu la quantité de moustiques qui s'envole au moment de la pulvérisation, c'était vraiment utile de tuer les nouvelles larves. A suivre au cours de l'été...

A l'air de bien fonctionner

Mon achat était destiné à éviter des larves de moustiques dans notre cuve de récupération d'eau de pluie. Cela semble bien fonctionner.

Parfait

Les larves de moustiques sont précoces cette année. Premier traitement effectué sur des bassines à ciel ouvert recouverte de centaines de larves. Très efficace. Autant de moustiques en moins pour les semaines à venir.

Bonjour Nanou,
Il faut en effet rester prudent si vos animaux domestiques ont accès aux eaux stagnantes qui seront traitées. Le produit une fois appliqué créer une pellicule en surface de l'eau pour justement agir sur les larves des moustiques. Vos animaux risquent alors d'en ingérer, ce qui n'est pas recommandé. En effet, si vous avez constatée des points d'humidité ou des eaux stagnantes dans votre cave, ce sont des endroits qu'il faudra traiter avec ce produit. Les caves sont bien souvent des lieux humides ou les moustiques trouvent des conditions idéales pour y pondre leurs larves.

Excellent produit que j'utilise à d'autres propriétés, il est efficace sur bcp de parasites externes et peu allergisant lors de contact même pur sur la peau.

Nous sommes conscient que c'est un produit très demandé en cette période et nous sommes désolé de ne pouvoir vous en proposer en ce moment. Nous en sommes les premiers impactés. Depuis le déconfinement, il est très difficile de se réapprovisionner sur les flacons d'emballage. La demande est extrêmement forte partout en France et en Europe et les délais de livraison sont incertains. Ce qui impacte inévitablement nos fabrications. Nous espérons pouvoir vous en reproposer très vite.

Manque de produits

Excellent produit faudrait qu'il y en ait davantage car cela fait 3 mois que j'essaie de commander et il n'y a jamais de produit d'avance j'ai même mis une alerte sur mon compte mais quand je veux commander y a plus de marchandises.!!!!!

Très bien

J'avais un petit bassin sur lequel flottait des centaines de larves de moustiques. Après traitement et au bout d'environ 48h, je constate que l'activité des insectes s'est considérablement réduite. Je referais un traitement prochainement car il a beaucoup plu ces derniers temps. Merci pour ce produit.

Efficace

J'ai eu l'occasion de tester ce produit sur des eaux stagnantes (bassines réserve d'eau et petits bassins sans poisson) ou j'avais repéré un grand nombre de larves de moustiques. Le géraniol a à la fois décimé les larves présentes et je constate une diminution certaine de moustiques dans mon jardin depuis le traitement
