Voici à quoi ressemble une racine de KonjacThe Japanese have been using konjac for 1500 years to exfoliate the face on a daily basis, while the Koreans reserve it to the baby's toilet. With its smooth cleaning, it can help calm the acne thrusts.
Its effect is surprising because it combines the effectiveness of a glove with the lightness of a bamboo flower. Just wet it a few seconds under the water so that it becomes round and soft.

How to use the konjac sponge?

You can use it simply with water. Humidify there so she can swell and be gentle. Like all sponges, it dries and hardens to air. However, it finds its original shape when it is wet. gently rub your skin with circular movements to gently exfoliate it. Also enjoy this massage to relax. Rinse it quickly under the water to remove the impurities it has recovered and let it dry.

In case of acneic tendencies, avoid rubbing too heavily on the areas concerned for a perfect comfort of use. To enjoy all its benefits, invite this sponge every day in your beauty rituals!

You can also use it with floral waters or your usual products. Although this is not mandatory, these products do not damage the sponge. It'll be enough to rinse her.

How do I keep the konjac sponge?

It is best to let it dry between two open air uses. Depending on the humidity of your bathroom, it can put several days to dry completely. You can suspend it with its cotton thread.

But to keep your sponge in perfect condition even longer, we recommend placing it in the refrigerator in a glass box or a cup. Thus, it will not dry and will be more pleasant to use. The fresh side will give a little whip to your skin during each cleaning!

Please do not twist or distort the sponge to sponge; simply press it delicately. To avoid moulding points we recommend disinfecting your sponge once a week.

To do this, you can dip the sponge for 2 minutes in water that was previously boiled in a pan. Or, you can put 2 drops of essential tea tree oil on each side of your sponge. Purifying and antibacterial, the essential oil of Tea Tree will help you keep your sponge clean and without moulding.

Each sponge has a lifetime of about 3 to 4 months, after which it will begin to fade. Then you can put it in the compost!

How are these konjac sponges made?

Poudre de KonjacTake a konjac root, which looks like a huge potato of 3 to 4 kg. Reduce this root in flour, so you get a white powder. Mix with water. Get in the oven. Your sponge is ready!
2 ingredients are enough : konjac root powder and water.

The life of a well-maintained Konjac sponge can go up to 3 months. That way, she's starting to fade. It can therefore be composted without any concern.

Where are they made?

Our konjac sponges come from a factory located in Hubei, north of China. This mountainous region has a warm and humid climate, conducive to the cultivation of konjac (and hiking with beautiful landscapes!). This factory was chosen for the quality of its facilities and its impeccable hygiene. The main activity of this factory is not the sponges but the konjac powder intended to replace the gelatin in the vegan kitchen.
For transport, konjac sponges are not afraid to take the sea as they arrive by boat. The carbon emissions due to this journey are minimal (especially as the sponges are very light).

Learn more about Konjac

Konjac (also known as amorphophalus konjac) is a tuber native to tropical and subtropical forests in South-East Asia. In Asian herbalism, konjac has long been used as a drug food and as a therapeutic food, against cough, cancer, burns or intestinal disorders. This perennial plant is now mainly consumed and prepared in Japan, where it enters the composition of many noodles and pasta dishes. The konjac is an excellent appetite suppressant. That says... avoid eating your sponge!!
