Japanese women have been using konjac for 1500 years to exfoliate the face on a daily basis, while Koreans reserve it for washing babies. By gently cleansing, it can help to calm acne outbreaks.

Its effect is surprising, as it combines the effectiveness of a scrubbing glove with the lightness of a bamboo flower. Just wet it under water for a few seconds and it becomes round and soft.

You can use it simply with water. Moisten it so that it swells and is soft. Like all sponges, it dries and hardens in the air. However, it will return to its original shape when wet. Gently rub your skin in circular motions to exfoliate it gently. Use this massage to relax as well. Rinse it quickly under water to remove any impurities it may have picked up, then leave it to dry.

In case of acne-prone skin, avoid rubbing too hard on the affected areas for a perfect comfort of use. To take advantage of all its benefits, invite this sponge into your daily beauty routine !

You can also use it with floral waters or your usual products. Although it is not mandatory, these products do not damage the sponge. Simply rinse it well afterwards. 

It is best to let it dry between uses in the open air. Depending on the humidity in your bathroom, it can take several days to dry completely. You can hang it up with its cotton thread.

But to keep your sponge in perfect condition even longer, we recommend placing it in the refrigerator in a glass box or dish. This way, it will not dry out and will be more pleasant to use. The freshness will give your skin a little boost every time you clean! 

Please do not twist or deform the sponge when wringing it out; just squeeze it gently. To prevent mildew spots we recommend disinfecting your sponge once a week.

To do this, you can immerse the sponge for 2 minutes in water that has previously been brought to the boil in a pan. Or, you can put 2 drops of Tea Tree oil on each side of your sponge. Purifying and antibacterial, Tea Tree oil will help keep your sponge clean and free from mildew.

Each sponge has a shelf life of about 3 to 4 months, after which it will start to crumble. You can then put it in the compost !

Konjac Powder Take a konjac root, which looks like a huge 3-4 kg potato. Grind this root into flour, so you get a white powder. Mix with water. Put in the oven. Your sponge is ready!

2 ingredients are enough : konjac root powder and water.

The lifespan of a well-maintained Konjac sponge can be up to 3 months. Beyond that, it begins to crumble. It can therefore be put in the compost without any problem. 

Our konjac sponges come from a factory located in Hubei, northern China. This mountainous region has a hot and humid climate, conducive to the cultivation of konjac (and hiking with magnificent landscapes!). This factory was chosen for the quality of its facilities and its impeccable hygiene. The main activity of this factory is not sponges but konjac powder intended to replace gelatin in vegan cuisine.

For transport, konjac sponges are not afraid to take to the sea since they arrive by boat. The carbon emissions due to this journey are thus minimal (especially since the sponges are very light).
