Some information about the bergamot
The bergamotier is a tree from 4 to 5 meters high. It was discovered by Christopher Columbus on the Canary Islands and introduced in Italy today, the first producer country. The essential oil has a dark green yellow colour and a characteristic fresh and fruity aroma. Its perfume, irresistible with citrus and flowers scents, blends perfectly with cypress, geranium, lavender, lemon, and ylang-ylang. Its smell is fresh, floral and lemony. On the palate, it leaves an acidified and sweet flavor. Oil is expensive due to low yield. It is widely used in perfumery (cologne) and as a tea flavorer (the Earl Grey tea for example). It is also found in some confectionery, such as Nancy's bergamot.
Antifungal, healing, the essential oil of bergamot is excellent for treating various skin problems such as acne and will soften dried and irritated epidermis. Antiseptic, it is also recommended against cooling and will relieve you. At once vibrant and relaxing, it is frequently used to relieve nervousness, anxiety and depression (calmante and sedative).

Chemical formula
The essential oil of Bergamot contains no less than 350 chemical compounds, including monoterpenes (limonene mainly,) sesquiterpenes, terpenic alcohols (Linalyle acetate,) aldehydes and coumarins.

Therapeutic properties of essential bergamot oil
Major : Calmante and sedative, Antibacterial, Antiseptic, Antispasmodic, Carminative, digestive and laxative.

Essential oils that are not soluble in water must be mixed with an emulsifier before pouring them into the bath. It is advisable to mix a few drops of essential oil with a vegetable oil (soft almond, jojoba, macadamia, musk rose, argan, olive, etc) to use it as massage oil.
"To relieve damaged or irritated skins" : 2 to 3 drops in a vegetable base, in localized massage
"To help clean fatty skins with acneic tendency:1 drop of bergamot + 1 drop fine lavender, in a neutral cream for the face.
"To promote good digestion":Especially in case of slow digestion or tension, mix 1 to 3 drops in a neutral vegetable oil (in massage located on the belly).
