Performance : 0.2% to 0.8%. It therefore takes 100 kg of Sarriette des Montagnes fresh plant to obtain between 200 and 800 grams of essential oil.

Underwater with a linear stem from 15 to 40 cm of heut and upright branches, the mountain sarriette has shining leaves and coriaceous leaves and white or pink flowers grouped in clusters. She believes in the limestone fields of south-eastern France and southern Europe. Its strong smell recalls that of the vulgar thyme. The Latin name of the Satureja Mountain Sarriette means "a grass with satyres", denoting creatures known for their sexual ardour. She has always been considered an aphrodisiac and was involved in the preparation of love philtresses, her culture was thus forbidden in monasteries.

The essential oil of Sarriette des Montagnes has powerful anti-infectious properties, particularly effective for treating respiratory, bronco-pulmonary, urinary, prostatic, gynaecological and intestinal problems. It is also very effective in the fight against fatigue states (physical and nervous) very useful in case of hypotension, and stimulation of the general tone and immune system. Very convenient on a trip, it will avoid the problems of "tourista".

*The chmotype is the identity card of the essential oil, its chemically defined composition by chromatographic analysis. A single plant may have several compositions depending on the place and variety. A chmotype depends on a property, a smell, a taste.

The main constituents of Sarriette des Montagnes essential oil are the Phenols (40 to 75%) (Carvacrol, Thymol), Monoterpenes (30 to 35%) (Para-cynes, Terpinene), and monoterpenols (5 to 15%). 

Allergens naturally contained in this essential oil:Lemonene, linalol and géraniol.
