Some information about Ravintsara

Ravintsara - Cinnamomum camphora

Ravintsara is a tree native to the tropical rainforests of Madagascar. Wild, it can reach 6 to 8 metres in height. It is therefore cultivated by lowering its branches to make it easier to pick its flowers, which gives it its original shape. It has long been confused with Ravensara Aromatica, which has less antiviral and more sedative and calming properties.

The essential oil is colourless and has a characteristic odour due to its milder action than that of the eucalyptus.

Chemotype*

1,8-Cineole, a.-terpineol, a.-Pinene
*The chemotype is the identity card of the essential oil, its chemical composition defined by chromatographic analysis. The same plant can have several compositions depending on the place and the variety. A chemotype depends on a property, an odour, a taste.

Packaging

Tinted bottle of 30 ml or 100 ml. Also available in 10 ml with the AB logo.

Characteristics

The essential oil of ravintsara is THE star of the anti-viral essential oils. The name of this highly aromatic tree from Madagascar means "good leaf" in Malagasy. The main constituents are cineole and terpenes.

différence entre le Ravensare et le RavintsaraNote : This essential oil used to be called "Ravensare aromatique" (Ravensara aromatica). This was a botanical naming error. To learn more about the difference between Ravensare and Ravintsara, read our file on the subject.

100% pure and natural oil

An essential oil is made up of chemically defined molecules (about 10,000 listed) that have been secreted by special plant cells. It can consist of from one to several hundred molecules, which helps explain why some essential oils have many properties but different therapeutic effectiveness. To guarantee the properties necessary for effective aromatherapy, it is important that an essential oil is 100% pure and natural (not cut, not deterpenated, not mixed with alcohol or vegetable oils) and preferably organic. This is the case for the essential oils we sell. They are sold in tinted bottles with a dropper cap.

Essential oils can help you

Essential oils are mainly used to help you treat many disorders. But be careful, even though essential oils are often extracted from edible plants, their concentrations mean that you have to be careful and respect their healing power. The use of essential oils is relatively simple and if you follow some basic rules, they will put their therapeutic genius at your disposal. Covering with essential oils has more advantages than disadvantages.

General Precautions on Diffusing Essential Oils

In the event of allergy, in particular respiratory, the greatest prudence is essential for this mode of use. The opinion of a specialist is then recommended. Do not use essential oils that are aggressive against the mucous membranes (essential oils rich in phenols or aldehydes).
