This hybrid can be recognised by its uniform, lilac-coloured clumps with a strong fragrance. It is the result of a cross between true (or fine) lavender and spike lavender. It is reproduced by cuttings. The flowering plant is distilled, and its yield in essential oil is 4 times higher than that of true lavender. Less expensive and with a less subtle odour than lavender, lavandin nevertheless has similar properties.

Without being as subtle as lavender, its scent is calming and sweet. You can combine it with bergamot, eucalyptus, geranium, rosemary and citrus. It promotes relaxation and sleep, calms anxious minds, and will relieve your insomnia problems.

Properties of the essential oil of lavandin super in diffusion

No need to worry about using this essential oil for diffusion. Hypotensive, antipasmodic. Diffusing it for 15 minutes in the bedroom before going to bed will give you an atmosphere of well-being and relaxation (also ideal in case of stress or anxiety). It will allow you to have a serene sleep. No contra-indication for diffusion except for allergies to its components.
