Some information on true (or officinal) lavender

France and mainly Provence still produce the best fine lavender essential oils. However, production fell with the arrival of hybrid species with higher yields and more brilliant colors ideal for bouquets or potpourri: lavandins. Light yellow in color, lavender essential oil has given its pronounced sweet and flowery aromatic scent to products in the perfumery and cosmetics industry.

Be careful to distinguish the essential oil of True Lavender (also called fine or officinale), from the essential oil of Aspic Lavender. Their biochemical distributions and their restrictions of use have nothing to do!

Lavender has been used for centuries and its applications in aromatherapy are impressive. Lavender essential oil is a panacea. Its scent is calming and sweet, you can combine it with bergamot, eucalyptus, geranium, rosemary and citrus fruits. It is an excellent healing agent, a powerful antiseptic, antiviral, antibiotic and promotes cell renewal. This oil is generally well tolerated and can be used locally pure (max. 1 drop) in many cases.

It helps in the healing of skin lesions. It is also an excellent cleanser for oily and acne-prone skin. It promotes relaxation and sleep, calms anxious minds, and will relieve your headaches and insomnia problems. In an emergency, remember that lavender cures almost everything.

It can consist of from one to several hundred molecules, which helps explain why some essential oils have many properties but different therapeutic effectiveness.
